Google+ Android App, Real-life Sharing Rethought for Mobile

Posted on Jul 31, 2011 in Social, Top Rated Apps | 2 comments

The Google+ Android App makes sharing “the right things with the right people a lot simpler.”

  • Version: 1.0.2
  • Size: 2.82MB (no apps2SD)
  • Category: Social
  • Price: Free

Note: Google+ (Google Plus) is still in active development (read: beta) and isn’t publicly released just yet. You’ll need an invite from an existing user to gain access.

If you’re just starting out with Google+, you’ll first want to organize your contacts into different Circles (to add new contacts, search by name/email or browse the “view suggested people”). Circles act like content filters, enabling you to share information with one group of people but not another. The default Circles are Acquaintances, Colleagues, Friends, and Family. You can edit, add, or remove Circles but only in the Google+ browser version (I added Circles for Android and Tech right off the bat!).

Top Android App: Animated Greetings

The Animated Greetings Android app lets you create (and star in) your very own, personalized greeting cards.

  • Version: 1.0.2
  • Size: 2.48MB (apps2SD enabled)
  • Category: Entertainment
  • Price: Free

Next time you are thinking about sending your birthday wishes or holiday greetings, use the Animated Greetings app to create a unique, personal message that will surely be remembered.

First, you’ll want to choose a card type from the gallery. The selection is rather slim at this point (only around 10+ to choose from, although they are all free) and so it should go without saying that we’d definitely like to have a much larger lot to choose from. The upside is that each card is customizable and can fit your needs with just a little bit of creativity (this is what will make your greeting stand out!).
