So, what’s one of the most popular things people do with their Android devices? Or smartphones in general? They use Facebook and Twitter. Android has been graced with only one real Facebook app, the official one-which leaves a lot to be desired. However, we have an INSANE amount of Twitter apps (a dozen plus!) available in the Market.
How does LG Socialite for Android differ from the pack? It COMBINES Facebook and Twitter into one easy to use, easy to see, easy to navigate full-screen widget. Check out a couple of screenshots here, and more after the break!

WordPress for Android is an open source app that offers you the ability to use the most important features to keep your site up and running on the go.
Overall Score: 4.5/5
WordPress for Android supports both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (version 2.7+) blogs.
When you open the app, you’ll notice the main three tabs at the top; comments, posts, and pages. In the comments tab you can view each comment, reply, mark as spam, unapprove, or delete. Similarly, in the posts (and pages) tab you can view all previous posts (and pages) with the options to edit the post directly or create a new one entirely.
Additionally, you can update WordPress account details and blog settings directly from the app too, through the menu button. However, these options are very basic and limited, so of course you won’t have the same level of customization as you’d find on the full site.
Overall, this app is great for a quick post on the run but lacks some of the functionality that would make it truly great. We’ll be crossing our fingers in hopes of future updates! In the mean time, download it and give it a try if you’re a current WordPress user.
KnockingLive is an exciting new app that allows you to turn your Android phone into a web cam. This app brings you live mobile-to-mobile pictures and video.
I tested this app using a G1 and an iPhone 3GS. Since it is a beta on Android, there was a little bit of trouble getting the two phones to connect, but after that it was very smooth. The image updates very quickly and has a good resolution (using my G1 camera).
The current drawback is that the app doesn’t offer any audio. It’s nice to be able to share video, but the addition of audio support will take this app to the top level.
Overall, this app offers a great new way to share experiences easily between mobile devices. Try out the beta version today if you’re running Android 1.6+. So, do you see yourself using this often?
AppAware is a free application that shares online your installations, updates, and removals of Android apps. AppAware is a companion to the Android Market and helps you discover new and interesting apps that you may have never found. And the best part about it all? It’s all in real-time.
User Interface: 5/5
Ease of Use: 5/5
When you open AppAware, you can see which apps are popular by how many people are installing them. You can filter the results based on time or your location. Additionally, you can get stats on all apps that have been installed, updated, and removed sorted by the last hour, day, or week. Also, you can see the most popular apps for your specific phone, which would especially come in handy for those running Android 1.5. Another cool feature is the ability to shake your phone in order to effortlessly update the list.
If you follow a specific link for an app, you’ll see more information about the frequency of installs as well as a direct link to open the app in the Android Market for easy download.
If you’d like to share your application information with others, you can choose to link AppAware with Twitter. You can also choose whether you’d like to contribute to AppAware’s statistics (anonymously) as well as the ability to locate where you are (for the location-based features).
Overall, I find myself already checking AppAware frequently to see what new apps I want to try (and which ones are good enough to share with you). We all know how difficult it is to find great new apps (hence this website!) and this app greatly aids in the continuous search. Install AppAware, you’ll definitely find something new and exciting!
